It’s Time to Heal Your own Trauma
Childhood trauma is defined as an event or events experienced by a child that is emotionally painful, frightening, or distressful, which can often lead to lasting mental and physical effects. Symptoms of childhood trauma in adults can include but are not limited to anger, depression, emotional outbursts, addiction, low self-esteem, and social disconnectedness. The goal of trauma healing is to give survivors a feeling they have control over their lives again.
Recovery from past trauma does not mean complete freedom from past events but can mean being able to live in the present without overwhelming feelings and emotions connected to past events. Coping strategies can include leaning on loved ones for support, facing difficult feelings, prioritizing self-care, and being patient.
This group is for adult survivors of (childhood) physical, sexual, and or emotional abuse. The purpose of the group is to provide an open, safe, and supportive space for survivors to build connections and friendships while healing from childhood trauma together. I will strive to ensure that everyone feels respected and valued.
Healing from trauma is a courageous journey
Childhood trauma can have a lasting impact on a person's mental and emotional well-being. For many people, processing their childhood trauma can be a difficult and ongoing journey. This group aims to provide effective tools for individuals seeking to heal from their past experiences. These groups offer a supportive and safe environment where individuals can share their stories, work through their emotions, and develop coping strategies. One of the primary benefits of participating in this group is the sense of community and support that it provides. Individuals can connect with others who have had similar experiences, share their stories, and receive validation and encouragement. This can be a powerful antidote to the isolation and shame that often accompanies childhood trauma.
